Message: Mining and Politics

Looks like my post got pulled too so I will repeat it here:

Last time the NDP were in power in BC I was president of a VSE listed company that had properties in the Golden Triangle area of BC where I lived at the time.

When we went looking for financing the message was the same from all the finance people- get some properties OUTSIDE of BC if you want any more money. We were only familiar with the properties in that area and did not have the expertise or inclination to look outside of BC so we then sold the company as a shell.

At that time there was not enough confidence of secure tenure in land holdings and a very promising mining company had a very good property of theirs turned into a park thus nullifying all the investment they had put in which I believe was in the neighbourhood of 50 million dollars spent. Kind of like being told that sorry boys, Schaft Creek is now a Park!

Windy Craggy was the property involved with the above scenario. Needless to say the mining community left the Province in droves.

I really don't think we have to worry about that happening in Cuu's case but I can't help but keep that situation in the back of my mind as it cost me a lot of money that will never be recovered.

PS: Your knowlegable contributions are much appreciated Webgogs, Chappy, Prospekt, Foxy and all the others that contribute useful info.
