Just wondering if some of the delays that we are experiencing re: Teck, have to do with major changes to the British Columbia Land Act -- as proposed by BC's NDP government.
If approved, this 50-50 shared decision-making between the province and First Nations people would impact 94 percent of British Columbia's territory -- which could conceivably give veto power to 5 percent of the population over the remaining 95 percent of the populace (as represented by the provincial government).
Following recent considerable public pushback over this proposed policy that would also impact the mining industry, the government has delayed their plans until after the provincial election (which takes place October 19th).
Knowing that the current polls indicate that the provincial NDP will easily win another majority in British Columbia, any Land Act changes will undoubtedly occur after the election.
Could any of this be a factor in the minds of Teck management re: acquiring Coppper Fox?
