Strange article that delivers many conflicting messages to what we have been hearing.
Does this news agency always use commentary from unspecified sources and those who wish to remain anonymous?
The article suggests that Teck is going ahead with production to start early 2028, with construction to start early 2025. But didn't Teck just announce last week that there will be zero sanctions over the next 12 months? Can you sanction in December 2024 and start construction in early 2025?
A strange series of conflicting messages about Teck's pipeline projects is being desiminated for some reason.
"According to a sector executive who preferred to remain anonymous, the current capex estimate falls short of requirements. " If this is true then perhaps Teck is massaging the numbers and pumping before dumping.
Add the rumours that Teck may consider a QB2 exit, maybe Teck is in fact setting the table to exit South America.
Outside Schaft Creek that pipeline would be offering very slim pickings. JMHO
