I wonder if the government would have the same reservations if the bidder was BHP or Freeport McMoran or even Newmont. Glencore is a shady company. No telling what problems they might create.

I suspect the board is in discussions with "preferred" bidders that might have more appeal to the government. Then too Teck might leverage the stay Canadian emphasis on more tax breaks etc to keep everything in house. 

the "only one mine in Canada" stood out. Now is the time for Teck and CF to emphasize SC and even EH to gain even more traction with investors. Sadly ES is napping and can't be disturbed.
