Sumitomo also holds a lot of the class A shares and doesn't approve of the takeover. I think there's enough support for a split from the A shareholders and even a big chunk of the B that the board will recommend that the split proceed.
Glencore also has to consider federal intervention, First Nations objections, a hostile B.C. government etc in whether to increase their offer before the vote.
JMO but I think there is a split and then the real bidding war starts. If Teck is serious about selling their copper portfolio they will need to polish up assets like SC/Galore. May might be a good month for the sp,if not an actual buyout. JMHO
