100% agree! You couldn't ask for a better story to emerge for Copper Fox to hitch its wagon to. ES and EE just need to seize the moment and speak up!
If it were up to me I'd be on the phone with majors all day every day. I would get Glencore to sign airtight confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements to facilitate talks. I would make sure Teck knows one way or another that I was courting majors including Glencore.
If nothing appears to be developing from it, no biggie. Before confidentiality agreements expire, I would trigger the ROFO with Teck. ...
If the price asked for is not total "loonie toons", how does Teck possibly say "No thanks, Go fish"? In this shark-swirling feeding frenzy Teck would have to believe (correctly or not) that we DO really have a major waiting in the wings to pay a dollar more.
If ROFO fails to attract Teck or another buyer then no biggie... we only have to wait another 6-9 months before it can be triggered again. The ROFO doesn't have to be a one shot deal and it doesn't stop us from accepting an offer from Teck without an active ROFO.
Let's make some noise!! Let's get out name in some headlines while the take-over news is hot!!
