I'm sure your suggestion is something that has already been considered - the people at Glencore are pros after all - but just for the hell of it I emailed Glencore a message this morning, saying:

"Hi. I'm a retail investor in Copper Fox Metals, one of Teck's JV partners. Given Teck's reluctance to consider the proposed merger with Glencore, may I suggest that Glencore consider buying out Copper Fox Metals, thereby gaining not only Copper Fox's share of the Schaft Creek JV but Copper Fox's other extremely promising ventures as well.
