Because it makes no sense to assume they would buy out CUU's share. They have no obligation to do that and would prefer another miner(like Newmont) or large investor (like Sumitomo) do it just like they've done with their other properties. An insignificant program will be bad news for shareholders as it demonstrates Teck still has no interest in developing the property, which Copper Fox needs to attract potential buyers and gain leverage in negotiations. If CUU is unable to find a another buyer then no doubt Teck would entertain a firesale price. Teck has not tried to buy out Copper Fox in almost 8 years and can certainly wait another 8 years.
