I wondered why it was taking Teck so long to finish the optimization, remodeling and desktop studies when it was clearly much longer than this work normally requires. Then there's the fact they never announced a new FS even though they were redoing everything in the 2013 FS. They finally booked the resource numbers in 2018 using their model, not the 2013 FS model. They did upgrade some of the inferred but the overall numbers were not very different, so Elmer said the 2013 FS is current to Copper Fox. The purpose of the desktop work was stated as " The objective of the desktop studies is to investigate the potential of a smaller scale, higher grade scenario for the Schaft Creek project. " And the outcome of this work was supposed to lead to this " If upon completion of the 2018 desktop study the SCJV concludes that there is the potential to materially change project economics, the SCJV will assess the timing and scope of further studies including a NI 43- 101 Technical Report if warranted. " Then there's the hiring of Renmark last year in May with no real purpose or outcome, they just disappeared. I think there's a connection to all these events and what we can expect next. The theory that fits all of this is tied to the poor economics from the 2013 FS. I don't think it's Teck that has been dragging this out, I think it's Copper Fox. They been waiting for improved FOREX and metal markets. They don't want a Tech Report unless it will show significant improved value in NPV, otherwise the strategy was a failure and we've waited 6 years for nothing. I was hoping Teck would find a smaller project size to improve economics along with the FOREX but it didn't happen. I think Renmark was hired last year to market the SC property because copper spiked up over $ 3.00 USD and it looked like a feeding frenzy for copper properties could happen. Then copper dropped back in June with the tariff fight and possible slowdown in China. All of the evidence supports the fact that the SC NPV has not improved much despite all of Teck's efforts.I don't expect anything to happen now until copper runs up over $ 3.00 USD again. Then they'll try to sell SC as there is absolutely no point in waiting any more. The conceptual study work is smoke to cover what's really going on. That's my take, I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to discuss over the coming months.
