I notice copper is flying the last few weeks and its very close to new 2016 highs. But our sp does not.
Think of the copper market as a game of Monopoly. The majors have been rolling big numbers, and have been moving around the board by leaps and bounds. The juniors haven't been as lucky with the dice, so they're moving around the board, but on a slower pace. And then we have the special case that is V.CUU, which due to being bound to a decision from Teck, with no timeframe for said decision, is stuck at the starting line, and has yet to pass GO and collect $200. Or in our case, $20 million.
The rising tide lifts all boats. But when your boat is tightly bound to an anchor that is a Teck production decision with no timeframe, you have little to no slack in the rope for which to allow the boat to rise. And potential investors appear to be well aware of this situation. Hence the reason the stock is trading a penny or so above a multi-year low, whilst other stocks (including the juniors) have had the unbound freedom to appreciate in share price over the past year.
