BC has always been a better place to develop a mine than Chile. Our labor force is second to none, yes we're union, wages and benefits are higher here, BUT our workforce is so efficient and productive, something like three to four times more, we easily beat Chile on that metric.
Our hydro power is also much cheaper, Chile has a very material shortage and new projects are not going to get the power required.
Theres also a dire shortage of water for everybody and locals/natives are starting to get very upset. Miners are resorting to piping water up several hundred meters in altitude and inland up to 200km to their project.
Our infrastructure, ports, rail, communications and Hwy's and tax rebates/credits are second to none.
Many naive and ignorant of the situation investors look at our grades and think they can never get mined profitably, man are they so very wrong.
