If you're canadian, and the price hits a dime, as it did today, you can transfer 55,000 shares from your cash acct. to your TFSA in Jan. for a value of $5,500. If we only recieved $1.50 that would grow to $82,500 tax free.
deposits in the elephant category are fast becoming few and far between so it's only logical, this will be mined sometime. so the risk, IMO, is not if but when. that question will be answered by TECK when it best serves their corp. plan.
large miners would rather work together than compete, and Fort Hills is a good example where TECK is happy with 20% and is sharing the expense and risk with other majors including an operator with lots of experience. it therefore follows the they will want to choose their own partners in the developement of Schaft, and have them share the same capex and resource risk.
I think it would be very difficult to convince a large miner to oppose Teck when they would rather join with them and have a harmonious relationship. I also don't think Teck would tolerate some other co. having control of the benefits of our JV. I think the value of our ROFO is highly over estimated, but, I may be missing something.
So for all of the younger people here, which includes my wife, if you can get your head around the possibility this could take a couple more years, from these prices it could be, and is IMO, a tremendous opportunity to change your lives and have complete financial security. .......best to all.....chunky.
