simc1, I realize this belongs in off-topic, but I agree with you on the need for improved intelligence to protect our police officers, soldiers and everyday citizens.

Not just relating to those involved in religious extremism, which may very well account for two incidents in the past few days.

Justin Bourque, James Roszko, Curtis Dagenais, Sawyer Clarke Robison, numerous shootings in Nunavut and many others across this country didn't involve any known religious motivations.

Unfortunately, there are crazies out there from all walks of life (fortunately they are the minority).

That said, I'd hate for our freedoms and civil liberties to suffer if we overreact to these awful incidents. It's a fine line...
