Good post on the postive macro developments. I actually have my doubts that we will be in surplus at all for the whole calender 2014 year.
I recently read an old quote that "Globally, economic copper resources are being depleted with the equivalent production of three world-class copper mines being consumed annually"
I said really? So I found articles that stated in 2013, the global demand for copper was about 21,000 tonnes which is about 44 billion pounds. The SC proven/probale is 5.6 billion pounds, which means that the world needs almost 8 of this size of deposit to come on stream EACH year. Wow!
So although I'm hearing of bigger copper projects coming online this year - the world actually needs lots more to just keep up with current demand. I also heard that current global inventories of copper are only about 3 days of global demand.
So although we continue to flirt with 52 week lows in stock price, I firmly believe that our future is good - provided one can wait that long.
