Dead fish would wash up after that rush of water. So far it hasn't been determined that the water was toxic. The only tests to date show that it is within drinking standards.

The BC Ministry of Environment who did the tests specifically stated this:

Based on the above [test results] impact to aquatic life and fish is not expected.

I don't think you can state that the salmon runs will 100% be affected given this statement.

Furthermore, I don't think people can claim that SC will now be delayed for years because of this disaster.
