I'm not surprised by the market falling from where it did... That I can see, and saw a while ago.
For some reason though, I thought we'd buck the herd. That we'd go against the grain. That we were somehow different. That if I exited, I wouldn't have an opportunity to get back in at a lower price point. That's my fault. I thought we were a diamond in the rough. I know for next time, even if I find a gem - don't try to go against the rest of the market.
So many of us are in the same boat. We were convinced we had enough factors in our favour to swim upstream, even as the Venture was in decline.
There are some valuable lessons in this experience, for sure. Painful, but valuable.
