Of course there is risk. There is not a single stock out there that doesn't have a level of risk to it. If there was no risk, money would be pouring in from various institutions, and we would be trading at many multiples of the current share price.

Teck backing in reduced the level of risk for investors. The keyword is "reduced". It certainly did not remove all risk, as there are several factors at play that will ultimately determine if you make money or lose money on your investment.
