Message: Re: Words from the BC Mine Minister ... Mr. Bennett ....

Bennett said despite the rejection of New Prosperity, the future of mining in B.C. remains bright.

There was an article in the Globe the other day that was saying the rejection of the New Prosperity mine bought the federal environmental Minister some political capital because they have shown they are tough, now they can go ahead and approve without accusations of rubber-stamping everything.

The next few projects that apply might get an easier ride because of the rejection of Prosperity.

This all means that Teck is heading into the best time ever to consider apply for that EA permit. The most willing governments are in place, and they have the credibility to carry through the permit.
