""OUR" money doesn't go to the company unless you've taken part in their PP."
Not trying to split hair, but indirectly the company does have our money. The shareholders in total contributed the funds held by the company under the "shareholders equity" section; which is made up of the original proceeds for share subscriptions and all the retained earnings or in our case, deficits accumulated since day 1 of the operation. Of course, the money has been used in things like drilling and overhead.
So, indirectly, the company is holding our (shareholders) money and we are relying on them to generate a profit, hopefully a handsome one, for us with the money we contributed directly or indirectly.
