Not that simple. Sure our value is more, but you're removing the value of the contract in and of it self.
There's also the optics and the timing. Sure we can sell for more because we own more, but if it took Teck that long to say no then how long will it take for someone else to do their DD? What about the fact that, although this may be a great property - you can make more money off of buying a mediocre property for a steal, than a great one for fair value. It's a buyers market, the juniors and even the mid-tiers and majors are doing terribly. The whole sector is down right now.
It would be better to get less now, put it somewhere else and see that move than to get fair value later when everything else has already gone up.
