Other mining entities have been going to some pretty undesirable places on the earth to find copper deposits. We have 10 billion lbs of the stuff, plus gold silver and moly a PFS and a bunch of other goodies.
Yes. They just look at Teck Highlland Valley profitable opertaions even at 0.2% and they'll want one. Long mine life and safe jurisdiction.
Another option Teck has is this:
Commit to 75% with a first right of refusal, spend the money this summer to improve the economics (waste rock, paramount, recoveries etc). Then take us out or find a partner.
Of course it's cheaper to do it now before they improve anything..For all we know they could be talking to Sumitomo right now.
Spoke to Elmer this am, of course they have a plan B if ever they need one. Many have shown interest and are waiting for Teck.
His opinion is Teck would have already backed out by now.
