IIRC... someone reported asking CUU management about why they did not stake their own claims. I believe the response was a rather silly: "We have better things to do" or something to that effect. Apparently the 'better things to do' did not include keeping an eye on Tetra Tech's progress with the FS in late 2011 and early 2012 nor drilling our northern targets nor explaining what Arizona is all about.
At least it would appear that they are staking their own claims in Az.
I agree, giving up extra cash plus a NSR attached to each parcel indefinitely is not an ideal strategy. Those NSR encumbrances will deminish any future sale price for those claims forever until it is purchased back for the $1M (+/-) each. Mr Marko has created a nice legacy for himself.
