As for the Liard share transfer, why would Teck Transfer the Liard shares to Copper Fox only to have Copper Fox transfer them back to Teck again after Teck backs in.

Because this doesn't occur right after they announce their back in decision. They need to earn their interest by spending the specified amount and then they can request the Laird shares. At 75% this would take a while to spend $350MM.
