I think Ice Man is simply stating the obvious

We are foolish to not approach this as anything but an arms length transaction

To not insist on specific compliance with pre-agreed terms is not going to do anything for us and could be detrimental

Obviously all we have are some pretty good terms, but they are useless to us if we allow them to be ignored
