Not sure I agree as a US CUU shareholder. As I understand the capital gains changes coming here, I'd much rather take a CUU profit (particularly a large long-term capital gain) this year. In 2013 the capital gains rates go up in the US.

And I'm reluctant to carry a lot of shares of TCK going forward unless I'm convinced the macro picture is rosy. So, whether the buyout is in cash or TCK stock, my prefered exit from CUU is in 2012. I'd sell CUU instead of waiting for the final stock swap, when the price of CUU rises to the value of the deal.

But if a buyout goes into 2013 before it is announced, I'll just have to wait. However, I think the buyout offer comes by mid-Nov if I had to guess.
