It looks like NovaGold is still trying to sell Galore Creek. In their Management Information Circular, one of NovaGold's 2012 goals is to "Divest Galore Creek". Keep in mind that Teck has a 90 day right of first refusal on the Galore Creek property. This means that if someone offers NovaGold a certain price to buy Galore Creek, then Teck has the option to buy Galore Creek for that same price within 90 days of the other offer.
I don't think there is much benefit to developing Schaft Creek and Galore Creek together. The projects are simply too far apart for most of the infrastructure to be shared. If Teck does buyout the rest of Galore Creek, I think it will be based on long term planning (like 40 years) and a cheap price tag.
