I was around when Bre-X happened and don't forget the Bush, Mulroney, Suharto triangle. I think it was more of a set up than a market fraud. I was also around when Chuck (Fipke) found diamonds. Still can't believe his daughter got stood up at the alter. What a hottie. My point is that it swings to both extremes. The 43's just help level the playing field. They are still not perfectly reliable but they are a good bench mark especially for international shoppers.
