This is from the Tahltan website. As you can see they don't say a lot in protest about the project and are highly focussed on the gains. What we are reading in the news could be part of their negotiations, as we saw during the NTL negotiations. They also have a timeline and a lot of information, none of which sounds like a protest.

Red Chris Project Economic Impact on Tahltan Nation
1The TCC is currently engaged in Government to Government discussions with the provincial government about potential projects including the Red Chris project. If Tahltan members provide direction through upcoming meetings, a potential revenue sharing agreement could mean the Tahltan people receive a share of up to 37.5% of the mineral tax revenue paid to the province (up to $2.41 million per year as currently estimated).
2 Income received through revenue sharing could potentially go to the communities to support local services such as health, education, amenities, recreation and community infrastructure.
3 If Tahltan members provide direction through upcoming meetings, there could be an opportunity for RCDC and the TCC to negotiate an Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) prior to the mine beginning operation.
4 While no specific opportunities have been identified, the Red Chris project will offer contract opportunities for a number of activities. These services may include: catering and housekeeping, fuel supply and delivery, tire supply and maintenance, concentrate hauling, road maintenance and other essential services needed during mine construction, operations and closure/reclamation phases.
5 The TCC and communities have expressed the concern to government and the company on developing capacity for Tahltan members to be hired at technical, management, administration and trades level. This could be addressed through a number of approaches such as on-the-job training programs, scholarships, or apprenticeship training programs.
6 Other business opportunities and spin-offs may also occur.
