The agoracom discussion moderation system is not perfect but it works. We all saw the attack on Vette a while back by someone using 20 accounts; bashers are out there, agoracom eventually caught up to them. A lot of profiles have been banned to good effect.

If we let the system work, I am confident that we can have a civil adult conversation about CUU and copper. The world is far from a perfect place and is full of risks, rewards and opportunities. I want to hear the negative sides of arguments as well as the positives - both need to be supported with facts/links etc or stated as being an opinion.

The agora system has kept those remaining "bashers's" heads down to a minimum. This is an ongoing process (new basher account, violation, reporting, processing, repeat). I am comfortable with the current system and can tolerate the odd open 'bash' since it will be delt with quickly under the system and the offenders have been quickly removed.

BUT... open bullboard attacks on folks like MES and BurningRoF for being suspected bashers are simply misguided paranoia resulting in nothing more than personal insults and collateral damage to this BB.

BBay's post? Unclear (hence my post), so a big benefit of doubt is requirred before we load the basher gun and begin hurling insults (that inevitably get returned). I don't see the bash myself but rather miscommunication, or my poor understanding, or untested/undemonstrated logic.

I've waged a few battles on bashers on SH in the past, and, in the end, it amounts to whack a mole. I like the agora system much better since obviously offending posts can be removed and profiles banned - immediately. The one problem is that not everyone agrees on who or what the bashers are...

For all the talk of folks doing their DD and being 100% long in CUU etc, etc., I would think that we could entertain the few (and dwindling?) attempts and let the system sort it out. Just because a post doesn't blow smoke up CUU's butt, doesn't make it a bash.

This is the last CUU bull-board that I'll participate in. Show some backbone, use the system, and let's enjoy it.
