Message: CUU management

I'm reasonably confident that the project will proceed with mitigating measures put in place, but it would be comforting to have an update from CUU on the matter nevertheless.

The EA is as very very good bet lol...:

Low annual precipitation (1m / year)

Low environmemtal impact (under 5% pag rock, very low compared to othe rprojects)

No fish habitat in vicinity of mine site

Minimal impact on wildlife (numerous wildlife studies completed)

Small footprint

First Nation support

The Project has been in the environmental assessment process since 2006 and has been collecting baseline environmental, economic, social, heritage and health data to support the environmental assessment since 2005; see below for list of baseline studies in support of the environmental assessment.

Even the Canadian Environmental Assessment agency made 50k available to the cause:

Proposed Schaft Creek Mine Project - Availability of $50,000 to

Participate in the Environmental Assessment

OTTAWA, Dec. 1 /CNW/ - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) is making available $50,000 under its Participant Funding Program to assist groups and individuals to participate in the federal environmental assessment of the proposed Schaft Creek Mine Project in British Columbia.

To receive funding, successful applicants must participate in the federal environmental assessment of the project. This funding is intended to support public participation in two future public participation opportunities in the comprehensive study process; the public review of the Environmental Impact Statement and of the Comprehensive Study Report.

A funding review committee, independent of the federal environmental assessment process, will consider all applications and make recommendations on the allocation of funds. Applications received by the Agency by January 14, 2011 will be considered.

Information on the program, including the Participant Funding Program Guide, the application form and the contribution agreement, is available on Agency's Web site at www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca . Information on the proposed Schaft Creek Mine project and the environmental assessment is also available on the Agency's Web site, in the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry, under reference number 10-03-57852 .

Copper Fox Metals Inc. proposes to develop an open pit copper-gold-molybdenum-silver mine, 60 kilometres south of Telegraph Creek in northwest British Columbia, with a proposed ore production capacity of up to 150,000 tonnes per day over a projected 15-year operation period.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency administers the federal environmental assessment process, which identifies the potential environmental effects of proposed projects and measures to avoid or mitigate those effects, in support of sustainable development.
