It's more about the ability to have a free and open discussion to get both sides of the story so you can come to your own conclusion. If the side you're arguing for is right, all is well because you'll prove your point. If you're wrong, you'll be able to see the error of your ways and change course. Without having both sides this does not happen. No, instead what occurs is group think which only leads to heightened expectations (one way or the other) and polarized thoughts.
The whole point of a discussion forum is to discuss things and to gain opinions and facts so you can form your own opinion and make decisions. It's not supposed to be a circle jerk. That just leads to bad investment decisions.
I have posted on SH, but only in response to MG, everything else there is mostly (unfortunately) not worth the time.
I am probably younger than most here, which just gives me more room to learn and grow. I don't get that if there's no intelligent discussion, no actual debate.
