Thank you for the explanation, background and pictures of the Kicking Horse Pass. I have always loved high mountains and their surrounding areas. Once when in India on business I took a three hour flight up to Khatmandu, Nepal. The following morning I arranged for a car and driver and we went up to Mount Everest. which was about 30KM away. I went up to about the 12,000 foot level where the mountain still soared slightly more than 17,000 feet above me. It was one of the rare clear days when the summit was not cloud covered. One of the more amazing and inspiring sights I have ever seen.
