1984:
There is nothing wrong with shooting for where what one want to be. But first one has to stabilize the current situation, before one can progress to the next level. If one does not develop and execute a step by step logical plan of progression but instead tries for a "moonshot", one risks falling into the trap of not progressing utilizing a logical plan of progression. To try to jump several steps above current level in a burst, risks failure due to the unknown and unknowables. An error some may well think Gusella has made before. Yes, every now and then spontaneous moonshots succeed. But more often they end in failure while creating enormous costs in their own right plus added costs when one need go back and reimplement logical progression development. Give me the boring scientific approach every time rather than the spectacular but, low percentage option predicated on unknowables.
