Oil Spill vs Oil Price

I remember the days when a mere slow down in delivery from the gulf would send oil to new highs, or some hijacked boat off the coast of Africa would spike oil prices for weeks.

In 2010, as oil gushes uncontrollably, oil prices have fallen.

Why?

Everyone will have a unique and personal reason why and no one is more correct than any other. Just interested in people's opinion.....
