Not to afflict you with the kiss of death but I agree with you. The only time one should deviate from their mission, is when the gain from deviating from the prime objective will contribute far more than it will cost combined with a synergistic and ongoing benefit. Other wise one gets bogged down with non essential and noncontributory projects which only threaten accomplihment of the prime objective!
