In answer to your question willysam, if you look at the reserves that UTS has for its Frontier and Equinox oilsands projects they are immense:
"Management of UTS and Teck Cominco believes that there is approximately 380 million barrels of recoverable whole bitumen present to support the Equinox Project. Our current assessment of recoverable whole bitumen to support the Frontier Project is in the range of approximately 2.0 - 2.8 billion barrels. Exploration and delineation drilling is continuing in the Frontier Project area and results of this additional drilling will allow further refinement of this estimate." http://www.uts.ca/documents/reports/UTS_PDD_March25(2).pdf
This compares to Connacher's bitumen reserves which are:
"The 10% PV estimates are based on 379 million barrels of 2P bitumen reserves and 462 million barrels of 3P reserves, after 2009 production estimated at 2.3 million barrels of bitumen (heavy oil) at Great Divide Pod One. " http://www.connacheroil.com/en/investor/cll-2010-02-12.pdf
