Co-generation facility

According to the latest press release today Connacher has been suffering power outages again at POD One. It appears that it was a very good and pro active decision by Connacher management to build the co-generation facility on the Algar site to provide reliable power for both POD 1 and the Algar plant sites due to the unreliablity of the Alberta power grid during various times of the year. It was not too long ago that POD 1 suffered previously from power outages at the plant site. According to the Drifter Projects website POD 1 gets its 16 MW of power from a power substation located 20km away. http://www.drifterprojects.ca/projects/cll_great_divide/gdoc_great_divide.html

Hopefully when the co-generation facility is completed that power outages will be a thing of the past for both pods going forward into 2010.
