You are absolutely right. At this point in time however, I will take hope and solace wherever I can find it. If such results come through extraneous to operational performance influences, so be it. It at least buys time to solve operational performance issues. Ultimately though, the successful addressing of the problem issues is the only way out of the mess which was created by managements panic reaction to the crisis of fourteen months ago!
