The US$ has had a honeymoon period caused by the fact that it has during this crisis been the worlds reserve currency. The resul was to settle accounts people had to acquire us$ for international settlement. Now, due to the progression of events, this relationship of world dependence on the US$ is breaking down. It will take some time but what we are seeing is the beginning of the death of the US$ as the worlds reserve curency. This will have enomous impact on all aspects of our economic lives and the value of all commodites.
