Also, I share your concerns regarding deflation. However, there are two things which causes optimism.

First, OPEC (meaning Saudi Arabia) is taking drastic measures to cut production. This should fairly soon yield better results in oil pricing. Secondly, the world economies are printing money at an enormous rate. Ultimately, this will morph into inflation as opposed to the current deflation. And when this arrives, and it is close, it wil do so with a vengence.
