As a Conservative myself, I see Ed more of a Joe Clark Red Torry type as oipposed to a Mike Harris type, ( Harris was in my oppinion the best Premier Ontario ever had).

The whole revamping of the Royalty program was in my oppinion nothing more than greed on the part of gvernment. They saw huge profits and wanted their share. Now I'd agree with some alterations , but he went too far and was penalized by losses of investment to other province..In these economic times, HE MUST readjust the royalties and provide the same incentives as Klein did in order to spur investment when oil prices were lower.

Alberta and the other oil producing provinces SHOULD DEMAND funding from Ottowa in order to kick start the energy industry. To hell with the failed auto industry, booming economies in energy producing provinces provide more spin off jobs than they ever will. As oil producers scale back projects around the world, a new shortage will occur and the prices will again go up. IF we expand our natural resource poroduction capabilities as part of economic stimulous, when prices go up Canada will be in an excellent position to take advantage of higher prices. Now is the time to build the infastructure to provide a totally self contained CLEANER GREENER industry. Build the upgraders, pipelines etc. Maybe build a NUKE power plant to service the oil sands. etc etc..,.
