This maybe one of the main reason for the CLL SP going higher in last few trading sessions.
Between Dec 29 and Jan 5 Dil-Bit price at the Hardisty (Alberta) jumped from $14/bbl to $37/bbl.
Looking at CLL ratio from the Q2/Q3 this would transform to bitumen price jump from $11/bbl to $28/bbl for CLL Bitumen.
This by itself would put CLL POD1 production cash flow positive based on the upstream and transportation cost (interest and other expenses not included).
IF this DIL-BIT price jump will be sustainable for 2 to 3 weeks going forward I suspect the Management will resume with full POD1 production.
Algar construction is a different story (see my previous post).
This sudden jump in price can not be explain by the much smaller increase in the WTI price. It must(?) be related to the local (Alberta) demand for the DIL-BIT. IMO it is the market force reaction to much lower supply of bitumen in NOV/DEC. The time will tell.
