Exactly
As the price of oil drops, so does the insentive to find alternate sources of energy. It's a cycle, been going on for decades. Gas is still the cheapest and most efficient way to power automobiles. Ships use alot of bunker oil, doubt the greens will allow all ships to be nuclear powered..I don't see any solar powered aircraft in the near futere and we'll never be able to say beam me up Scotty. Trains, again deisel fuel is the way to go for cross country transport..Transport trucks, don't see too many Hybrid semis on the horizon. Not to mention almost everything made has oil in it, it's required for plastic or used to lubricate machines etc.
Let's get real here,, we can run electric trains and cars, buses and trucks,,BUT where does the electricity come from? The environazis will never allow large scale nuclear plants to be built, they won't allow mega hydro projects as they destroy huge tracts of land ( James Bay comes to mind)..Wind farms sound good, bit nobody wants them anywhere near where they live..Solar panels,,yeah great they'd have to cover the whole province of Ontario with panels to create enough power..
It AINT gonna happen...Let the markets have their cleansing ritual.. The short sellers will feast on the spoils of panic, and when the bottom hits and the only way money can be made is by driving up the prices, then it will happen.
Too many countries depend on high prices to survive,,They'll cut production, when the current world reserves dry up, the price will rise again. IF that don't work they may even start a few wars for good measure.
