Dick is playing it smart. I do not believe he is attempting to pass along any subliminal or veiled messages at all. What he is saying is that he is not going to sell his production at a loss. He has hedged half of his productive capability at a break even price at worst on a contribution basis and reduced his producton cost as much as possible while sustaining hedged producton at cash break even at worst.
This is an absolutely appropriate choice under current conditons. Not to mention, the choice that conserves corporate assets most effectively under trying circumstances in perilous times. As for me, I am glad we have such a wise and savvy, and cautious hand at the tiller in these perilous and uncertain times.
