Things are really bad when the politicians find a way to go after votes and get their names circulating. Just received this from my local congressman:

"...It has come time for a national energy policy that places us on a path to independence. For our economic security, our national security and environmental security we must be energy independent within the next 15 years.

In order to become truly energy independent, the United States must replace 9 million barrels of oil per day..."

So much for capitalism, supply & demand, free market enterprise, common sense and etc.
