Good question. Wish I had a good answer. As for a potential strike on Iran, I doubt that the US would be an active participant. At least in a direct fashion. Would consider that US might allow Israel to use a few of our stealth aircraft for such a mission, piloted by members of the Israeli Air Force. Obviously, Israeli crews would already need to be trained and qualified to handle such a craft. The armament would need to be piercing "bunker busting" weapons capable of deep penetration prior to detonation. Such weapons exist in the inventory.

So as to be relevant, what would be the impact of such a strike on the geopolitical situation and resultant reaction on supply and the price of oil? Likely that would depend on the outcome of the action and its effectiveness. The answer to that might well be dependent on how the people of Iran were to react. There is a large number of Iranians whom are not supportive of their government. In all honesty, the same is true of the US.

One thing that is likely true. If the Israelis feel they are directly threatened with a nuclear enabled Iran and with the threats by Iranian leaders to use such weapons, they likely will take action with or without the US! God help us all in such an event!
