I agree with both of you, hopefully will pop if Algar is approved since it will lead to a (relatively) doubling of bitumen production and may pull back slightly if delayed. I don't think there would be much of a pull-back though as Connacher's never tracked the price of oil much, unless that's changing now they're actually producing.
Times really seem to be changing with the nationalization of the oilfields, and the big players being unable to obtain new sources of oil. Here in the U.S. every day now the high price of gasoline is on the news. Last night they interviewed people on the street again and they're truly upset and even angry. This morning's discussion was about how there's no short-term fix and prices will only go up. Nobody paid much notice during the spikes a year ago and now they're having to pay the piper. There are polls every day about do people expect to drive less this summer, with overwhelming "yes" responses. We're not used to thinking about "Should I really make that trip in the middle of the day to see my daughter's play at school when gas is so expensive" ... it's very strange.
