I agree with you that this article is critical to CLL, but as was pointed out to you it belongs in the off topic forum. Thank you very much for posting it as I would never have seen it had you not.

The environmental aspect is of course a concern, I'm a little suspect on the poll taken. What questions were asked and under what context. I can guarantee you that if the right question were asked to the right people the poll would say that most Canadians would shut down the oilsands. You must remember that many Canadians are very envious of the wealth the oilsands are creating for Albertans, as they're economies are tanking ,and angry about how Alberta's success is draining jobs and manpower away from their provinces. Here in Ontario, Alberta is being blamed for our tanking economy.So you see there's  too are many variables to take the poll seriously. Either way CLL shouldn't be worried about this  as they have the most environmentally friendly system and the Government still needs the money from the oilsands.

More importantly is whether the Government of Alberta considers all 6 PODS as 1 project or as separate projects. I think the need for each pod to be approved is just a formality and a means of ensuring regulations are being met, sort of like the way a city inspector will inspect a construction project during various stages.
