Sharky,
The environazis will never be happy. These guys are a bunch of professional leftist protesters with too much time on their hands. With the cold war being over and communism dead, the environment has become the issue de jour, those cute little white baby seals are also off the agenda.
Although SAGD which CLL uses, has the least environmental impact of all methods, a huge amount of steam is required..Natural gas is the current energy source. BUT THIS IS BAD,BAD BAD, all that carbon going into the environment..In fact if I'm not mistaken most of the greenhouse gases being produced is from burning of Natural gas for this reason.Of course the obvious solution would be nuclear power.
BUT NO NO NO the same environazis won't allow nuclear either,,all that bad radio active waste...Can't have windmills either as birds get killed by them.
Of course an obvious solution would be to start drilling all that oil in Alaska so the tar sands wouldn't be so critical..BUT NO NO NO, can't have that,, all those poor caribou and polar bears might be disturbed.
Look, these idiot Luddites want everyone riding bikes, crowded into cities like sheep, getting groped and mugged on inadequate public transit, freezing in the winter, and sweating in the summer (A/C very bad) and they won't be happy until we're living back in the stone age or paying taxes thru the ying yang for the privilege of having a few modern luxuries.
No the most destruction on earth will be the major wars soon to be fought between the major powers over the dwindling supply of oil.Just ask the Iraqis what modern warfare does to the environment.
These environazis have to learn that they must allow progress as the world won't go backwards. deal with the oil sands or expect a scorched earth caused by continuous warfare.
