The Ontario auto industry is in serious trouble primarily due to the high dollar with the high price of oil being another factor,, with the exception of Honda, mostly gas guzzler are produced here..We need something to blame and Alberta is a good target. People here don't realize that a high U.S dollar isn't good for commodities if they're paid in U.S dollars as oil is.

Again your absolutely correct in my oppinion, our dollar is raising only because the U.S dollar is falling ( which I believe to be deliberate but that a discussion for the off topic board).

CLL's progress has been challenged by labour shortages and inflation. The high U.S dollar along with higher royalties is cutting into profit margins. Yet this company has done a phenominal job in meeting all targets and achieving greater levels of succes.You're again correct, a testement to good management.

I see a U.S recession as a good thing for the Canadian stockmarket

as American investors may look for calmer seas to park their money.
